Emily is a firecracker. Curious, unabashed, and fiercely loyal to land and sea, she is on the hunt for scalable connections forged in authenticity, joy, and a deep desire to create intentional and vibrant futures.
Credentials include: sheep milker, Director of Organizational Development, writer, mediator/facilitator, (pro)activist, professional yes-sayer, wannabe surf bum, and she makes a mean cup of coffee.
When pretending to be an adult, Emily is a Ph.D. student in Communication Studies at Colorado State University. She partners closely with the Center for Public Deliberation, the Office of the Provost, the One Health Institute, and the Institute for the Built Environment. Her interests lie in collaborative research and how communication methods and processes can enhance or inhibit civic engagement. She holds an M.A. from the University of Denver in Conflict Resolution and received her B.A. in Communication Studies, along with a minor in Environmental Horticulture, from CSU. She is a first-generation college student and a champion of the Land-Grant Mission. When not trying to make the world more vibrant, she is chasing waves, gardening, finding magic in the mundane, and riding her bike around town.
